CARE home staff have climbed the highest mountain in Wales to fundraise for a sensory room for their elderly residents.
Six staff members from Aaron Court Care Home, on Princes Road, Ellesmere Port, all completed the walk to the top of the 1,085m high Snowdon.
The team included home manager Lindsey Quegan, alongside her husband Alex, deputy manager Heather Thomson, home administrator Charlotte Spain, quality and support lead Joanne Murray, senior care assistant Roxanne Walsh and activities co-ordinator Amy Jones.
They have so far raised £625 but are continuing to appeal for donations to help towards the sensory room, which can provide therapeutic benefits for residents with dementia.
Home manager Lindsey Quegan said: “Multi-sensory equipment can help to elicit memories in those with dementia through touch, sound, sight and smell.
“After opening our pub, named 'The Forget Me Knot', for our residents and visitors to enjoy together, we decided to fundraise to build a sensory room.
“Walking up Snowdon was certainly a challenge but we’ve had great support from friends, family and the wider community. It means so much to us.
“Anyone who would still like to donate can do so via our fundraising page: www.gofundme.com/f/climb-up-snowdon-aaron-court-care-home."
