HUNDREDS of bikers are set to attend a memorial event to fundraise in memory of their friend Nathan Clarke.

The charity evening will be held at J and S Accessories in Oakmere, Northwich, to raise funds for the North West Air Ambulance on Wednesday, September 4 from 5-9pm.

Former Northwich doorman Nathan, aged 27, known fondly as Nafe, from Chester Road, Winsford, was on his way to the bike shop and café at J & S when the accident happened.

His mum, Les, said: “As saddened as we are that Nafe is physically no longer with us, we are heartened by the fact that he lives on in so many other people’s lives.

“Not just the two young men that have received his kidneys, but all the people who knew him from whichever aspect of his life; family, friends, colleagues, bikers, doormen, and the tattoo shop.

“Nafe was caring and funny and his death has left an enormous void; we had him for nearly 28 years and he lived every single day of them to the full, leaving a lasting impression on everyone.

“We are now praying for the weather to be good on September 4 so that the Bike Night at J&S will be a resounding success, and that lots of money will be donated to North West Air Ambulance in Nafe’s memory.

“Please, whenever you are out on the road – think bike! Riders don’t have the same amount of protection as the occupants of a car, and this can result in catastrophic injuries that can be fatal, as we know only too well.

“Nafe isn’t the first and tragically, he won’t be the last. Please support the North West Air Ambulance just in case the next time, it could be you or one of your loved ones that are in need of their help.”

A warehouse manager at Johnsons Removals, Nafe was also a qualified doorman, working at venues across Cheshire and Shropshire including Madison's in Northwich, Nakatcha in Nantwich and the Boar's Head in Oswestry.

Earlier, he worked as a barman at De Bees in Winsford.

Alex Sheeran, from J&S Accessories, said: “All the lads in the shop knew him and thought the world of him. They genuinely loved Nathan and thought very highly of him.

“This is going to be a fantastic social night for bikers and the wider community. We are very child friendly and the kids can come and see all the bikes and take part in the night too. The adults will meet some bike racing professionals and can enjoy some refreshments in the café. There will be a fantastic raffle and we hope to raise as much as we can for the North West Air Ambulance as they do an amazing job.

“This is our last Bike Night of the year – so it really will be a grand finale in his memory – and absolutely everyone is welcome.”

For those that wish to support the event but can’t make it on the night, donations for the Air Ambulance are welcome at justgiving.com/NafeClarke
