MIDDLEWICH High School is celebrating its best GCSE results.
Headteacher Heidi Thurland said: “I am delighted with Year 11 and their positive attitude, resilience and determination, which has enabled them to succeed.
“Our school’s fully-inclusive ethos of ‘Excellence in Learning - Achievement for All’ is reflected in the highest GCSE attainment in the school’s history.
“I am extremely proud to acknowledge excellence in GCSE maths 78 per cent, Further maths 88 per cent, English 72 per cent, Triple Science 90 per cent, ICT 84 per cent and Art 92 per cent.
“Once again students have achieved the highest grades, with 41 per cent of students achieving grades 9-6 and attainment in core subjects being above national average.
“Individual students to be commended on their personal excellence are Oliver Atkinson, Saffi Mitchell, Bronte Chan, Lucy Wood, Harry Clayton, Matthew Hall, ShiNi Lin, Matthew Naylor, Matthew Moores and Nikita Colborne.
“Special recognition for progress includes Beth Latham, Will Robinson, Fred Oakes, Jenny Gunn, Eden Simpson, Lucy Naden and Lewis Stanley.
Heidi also congratulated all of her students on their successful transition into their post-16 studies and future careers.
She said: “I would like to acknowledge the commitment and hard work of staff who have supported our students so effectively. I am excited about leading the school as we continue to build on this success.”
