A WINSFORD man is taking on a ‘gruelling’ cycling challenge to raise money for the hospice that cared for his late mum.

David Evans will be taking on a 200-mile cycle challenge on Sunday, September 8 and he has set up a Just Giving page to help raise funds for St Luke’s Hospice.

David said: “Some years ago, my Mum became ill with terminal cancer, there was absolutely nothing that could be done for her.

“She suffered terribly but the Fantastic Staff at St Luke's Hospice did all they could to make the rest of her days as bearable as they could.

“Not a day goes by without me thinking of her so I just wanted to raise some much-needed funding for this special place.

“If they can put the money to looking after people how they looked after my Mum then the 200 gruelling miles will be worth every pedal stroke.”
