SOUTH Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has issued advice for residents who are ill on the bank holiday.
Some local pharmacies are open on bank holiday Monday and may be able to give you the advice and medication you need, without having to wait to see your GP.
The NHS 111 free phone number is available any time day or night. Trained call handlers can give you the advice you need, or direct you to the service best suited for your need.
Dr Andrew Wilson, Clinical Chair of NHS Eastern Cheshire CCG and NHS South Cheshire CCG said: “At any time of year, it’s a good idea to have a well-stocked medicine cabinet.
“For under £10, you can fill your medicine cabinet with a range of painkillers, antihistamines and treatments for minor ailments.
“If you’re out and about over the bank holiday weekend, you could add a small first aid kit to your bag or the boot of the car, just in case. Drinking plenty of water and protecting yourself from the sun are also simple ways to take care of yourself.”
