Warrington Borough Council says the results from schools and colleges in the town are better than ever with an increase in the number picking up the top grades.

Cllr Matt Smith, cabinet member for education, said “These fantastic A-level results are great news for Warrington. They are testament to the hard work of students, supported by dedicated schools staff.

“It’s pleasing that Warrington’s overall results show an improvement against the national average again this year. While, nationally, we have seen a drop in the proportion of students achieving the top grades, in Warrington we have seen an improvement this year.

“I’d like to congratulate young people from across the borough on their outstanding academic achievements. We wish all of our students the very best of luck in achieving their future career aspirations.”
