A MIDDLEWICH woman is shaving her head for charity and to break the stigma of hair loss.
Sarah Pearce, 31, has decided to raise money for the Joshua Tree after undertaking a daring challenge to raise money last year for the Christie’s.
Sarah said: “I try and do something positive for charity every year. Last year I went sky diving for the Christie’s.
“I’ve worked with Joshua Tree and it is a lovely local charity and it does fantastic work.”
It was chance encounter that inspired Sarah’s latest charity venture.
The Sutton Lane resident said: “I overheard someone saying that they wouldn’t be attractive bald and after hearing that I wanted to break the stigma about hair loss and show that it’s just hair and it doesn’t really matter.”
Sarah will be hosting a coffee morning on Friday, September 27 and she will be shaving her head during the day.
Sarah said: “I only decided to go through with this a couple of days ago and I set up the Just Giving page yesterday and I’ve already had friends and family sponsor me.”
