THIS year’s open day events in the Murgatroyd Brine Pumps has been cancelled due to the restoration project not being completed yet.
The open days were scheduled to take place from September 14 to 15.
Kerry Kirwan, heritage development officer, said: “We have informed the organisation behind it so they can take us off their website, however the booklets will still have us in.
“Our restoration project has overrun and the site will still be in the care of our contractors Quadriga. “We are sorry for any inconvenience but it is better for us to open to the public when we are ready, there is no point in coming along to a building site.
“There have already been some massive changes so bear with us and we hope to see you in April 2020, our first year of regular public open days.”
