Bon Bakery also create traditional breakfasts which can be eaten in or takeaway.

Kirsten added: "We started with the idea of just a simple bakery selling bread but it soon became obvious that there were other things which could be added to the menu.

"So we included unusual loaves such as roasted onion and spelt beetroot, then salad boxes and some popular French, Italian and American style food lines too.

"To top all this off we also offer a variety of teas and coffees and milkshakes and real ice cream."

Newspapers will be available for those who wish to enjoy a coffee or afternoon tea in the village and charge up with USB charger points throughout the store.

The pair said: "Initial sales have been good.

"We have been sampling lines and encouraging customers to let us have their opinions and their suggestions for any additions to the range.

"Because at the end of the day - the customer is king."
