CHESHIRE East Council has granted planning permission for the change of use of three industrial units off Telford Way.

The units were initially built with permission for general industrial use but the applicant submitted a new application stating that this was not always possible.

In a planning statement, the applicant said: “It is sometimes the case that someone would like to use the unit for a use outside the remit of B2 and fall into the classification of B1 and B8.

“Basically as we see it, B1 covers the business side of the operation in that it is a business that can be carried out in any residential area without causing detriment to the amenity of the area.

“B8 covers the use for storage and distribution, which is the main use of supplying electrical components to the trade and delivering them to the site.

The use classes B1 and B8 relate to business uses and storage and distribution for businesses.

The applicant claimed that the additional uses of the storage units would not create any problems for residents or businesses on the site.

Cheshire East Highways stated the change of use would not create any highway issues.
