The Middlewich Annual Show returns next month 163 years after it started.

The event is one that the whole family can take part in and is one of the few remaining shows of its kind in Cheshire and it will take place on Saturday, September 7 with the awards being given out at 3.30pm.

There are sections where residents can show off their green fingers in displaying fruit, vegetables and flowers and your skills with cookery, craft, flower arranging and photography.

We have special age-related sections for children which are free to enter.

The deadline for entries is Wednesday, September 4.

The Show Society also runs the Middlewich in Bloom Competition (MiBC), which is open to community groups, businesses and individual households.

You can enter your hanging baskets, front gardens and floral displays.

Displays and gardens were judged at the end of July and awards are presented at the annual show
