A BRAND new six-hour music cruise will set sail on the River Mersey this weekend.

Taking place on Sunday, August 11, Fezzy Cross the Mersey will be an afternoon of fun celebrating the very best local music talent.

Once you step on board the ferry you will be served a free drink courtesy of Liverpool Gin.

Anton Powers will headline the event and will be joined by the likes of Wirral singer-songwriter Yasmin Depp, Ukebox, JC & The Two Steps and Tequila.

Anton said: “I’m super excited to be performing on the first ever ‘Fezzy Cross The Mersey’.

" I can still remember getting the ferry as a kid and have fond memories of travelling on it.

"The line-up for this is fantastic and I can’t wait to close the event with my set as we sail across the Mersey, I’ll have some big tunes lined up for it!”

Drinks and snacks will be available from the fully-licensed on-board bar and guests can get on and off the ferry at various points throughout the day.

Organised by Mersey Ferries in conjunction with Wirral's Marc Kenny, the cruise will set sail from Seacombe at 12pm and the Pier Head from 12.15pm

Gary Evans from Mersey Ferries, said: “This is one of the most exciting cruises we’ve ever launched. Our team has worked in conjunction partners to ensure we’ve created a line up which includes a mix of well-loved local artists, but also a headliner who will excite passengers and help them to enjoy a festival experience on the iconic Mersey Ferry.”
