A NEW art class with a twist has started at Walton Hall where people can learn to life draw.

The Realist Academy is running Wine and Paint Wednesdays for those looking to express themselves abstractly or realistically.

It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or experienced, it is the taking part that counts and owner Louis Smith will be on hand to offer advice.

Realist Academy has purpose built facilities and provides professional easels and benches.

The easels are equipped with work stations to help students organise their materials and the layout of the class is centred around the model giving a variety of angles to choose from.

The class size has 19 places and Louis is looking for budding artists keen to work with live models.

Set up about a month ago, the academy's aim is to build a larger size group to create more of a social atmosphere.

The evening consists of a single pose for two hours with a 20-30 minute break, while wine and nibbles will be provided during the break as well as tea and coffee.

The classes alternate between the figure one week and portraiture the next week.

Classes take place each Wednesday night between 7pm and 9.30 pm.

You can park inside the park at the Heritage Cafe in the Stable Yard as the Realist Academy is just above the cafe.

Tickets on the door cost £10 or you can pay online for £8.
