A FIRE has broken out at a barn at a Northwich.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called at around 12.20pm on Saturday, August 3 to Booth Bed Lane following reports of a fire involving straw.
A number of fire crews from across the county were at the site throughout the day and into the evening alongside firefighters from Greater Manchester.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were tackling the blaze with hose reel jets, main jets and a light portable pump.
The farmer helped firefighters by bringing in heavy machinery to remove any excess straw.
At 9.30pm crews were still at the site but allowed the remaining straw to burn itself out with ground monitors assessing the scene.
Other firefighters were on route to provide relief to crews that had been at the site all day.
