MILLINGTON charity, The Children’s Adventure Trust, has welcomed the two new patrons following in their father’s footsteps.

Tim Grundy was one of the founders of CAFT, a charity that creates a special haven for terminally ill, disabled, and socially disadvantaged children.

In 1985, Mr Grundy initiated a fundraising appeal which led to the purchase of the charity’s base in Millington, near Lymm.

Since 1992, this vision has led to helping children whose needs prevent them accessing leisure activities with holidays, day trips, and even Christmas parties.

Amy and Joe had grown up with CAFT and remained in contact with the charity after their dad died in 2009.

In February, they made a special visit to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Mr Grundy’s death and it was then that the charity had the idea of formally recognising their relationship.

Amy and Joe were delighted to be guests of honour after becoming the charity’s newest patrons.

They said: “It’s a privilege and honour for us both to be asked to become patrons for CAFT. The Farm has always held a special place in our hearts.

“We’d both like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff, both past and present for their dedication in continually striving towards making our dad’s dream a reality.”
