A COMMUNITY organisation is looking for members with the aim of helping those who need it in the town.

The Middlewich Good Neighbours aim to help members of the community in any way they can.

Damian Ronander said: “One example of the extraordinary impact Good Neighbours has on people’s lives is the story of Karen and Steve Green, who recently moved to Middlewich.

“Not only has Good Neighbours welcomed them to the community with open arms and quickly helped them make new friends but, after an unfortunate accident left Steve unable to do gardening and much housework, we were quick to chip in.

“That is just one of many examples of how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.”

The group aims to reinvigorate community spirit. They do this by performing odd jobs, such as gardening and dog walking to providing transport or even being just a friendly face to share a cup of tea with.

The charity host casual events to combat social isolation and connect locals to those who are in need.

Damian said: “On Saturday, July 27 Good Neighbours hosted an afternoon tea at the Middlewich Wych centre. This is a regular event, allowing all volunteers to meet and indulge in a wonderful selection of home bakes.

“The ambiance was incredibly welcoming, and everyone was extremely cheerful and sincerely grateful for the generosity of the organisers and volunteers. One of the cheerful guests was local MP Fiona Bruce, who is a proud patron of the organisation and has been for several years.”

The charity are going to be focusing on reaching out to encourage and inspire the younger generation to get involved and give back to the community.

If you can give a small amount of time to help the local community or if you need help no matter how big or small, contact Good Neighbours- like neighbours used to be.
