NORTHWICH-based Roberts Bakery is challenging local businesses to take them on at an It’s a Knockout competition in aid of children’s charity, the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.

Bakers will go head-to-head with teams from all over the north west in this fun and foam-filled event and are calling on teams from Northwich to join them to raise funds for ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from the region.

The event will take place at Bowdon Cricket Club on Sunday, September 15.

The charity is once again joining forces with Graham Fishers International It’s a Knockout and is calling for teams of up to 10 people to compete for the title of CAFT It’s a Knockout Champions 2019.

Northwich Guardian:

Rachel Dickinson, PA to the Roberts Family, said: “CAFT is one of the principle charities that the Roberts Family support and we are thrilled to be taking part in this year’s event. It’s proved very popular at Roberts Bakery and we’ve had plenty of people putting themselves forward to be part of our team entry - for those in the team old enough to remember the 80s version of Its A Knockout, it’s been the opportunity to fulfil a childhood dream.

“We are excited to be taking part in this fun-filled event which will raise money for this amazing charity and continue our longstanding relationship with CAFT.”

Madcap capers await teams of between 6 and 10 adults all set to up-beat music with crazy commentary, plenty of water and lots of foam.

Northwich Guardian:

A barbecue and bar will be open throughout and the charity is hoping for a bumper crowd to celebrate the return of the event.

Pippa Watton, events fundraiser for CAFT, said: “Last year was the inaugural It’s a Knockout event and saw 10 teams having the best fun ever, I don’t think we’ve ever laughed so much. We raised an impressive £5,000 at last year’s event which is great for the first time, but we’d like to smash through that target this year.

“We’re so pleased that Roberts are joining us this year for this fantastic community event – it promises to be a truly memorable day.”

There are several payment options available for teams of between 6 and 10 people. Teams can make a one-off payment of £500, or they may choose to secure the amount through sponsorship. That works out as just £50 per person for a team of 10.
