THEATRICAL children at Delamere CofE Academy rose to the occasion to achieve outstanding results in prestigious music and dramatic arts exams.

Pupils at the primary achieved a 100 per cent pass record after taking the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) examinations in May.

They had been coached to the high standard by Little Voices Cheshire West, a performing arts school which teaches a range of skills at Delamere.

Kathryn Delaney, Principal at Little Voices, said: “We are thrilled that our students’ talents have been recognised through these amazing results, and are so proud of all of them.

"It is always rewarding to be part of an organisation that helps students to achieve their ambitions.”

Isla Entwistle, who achieved an exceptional mark of 89 for her performance of ‘The Door’ by Richard Edwards, said: “I chose this piece because it was so descriptive and really magical. I wanted to create that magic in my performance and it is so rewarding to have all my hard work judged so highly.”

LAMDA examinations allow students to gain UCAS points to help with their university applications.

As part of the exam, students recited either a poem or a dramatic monologue, and then answered detailed questions about their performance.

Little Voices in Cheshire West has been running since 2004, during which time Kathryn and her team have trained more than 200 students in drama and singing, helping them to achieve consistently impressive LAMDA results.
