A TEENAGER from Northwich Rowing Club received silverware after leading her national team to success at the Home International Regatta.
Elie Cushen was captain of England's junior women during the latest edition of the annual event at Glasgow's Strathclyde Country Park, where they retained a title that has been theirs for the past eight years.
The Sir John Deane's College student took second in a single sculls race behind Ireland's Holly Davis (Lee Valley RC).
Meanwhile victories in five of the other six boat-class categories propelled England to the top of the final points table.
"The whole team have been outstanding throughout from the trials to race preparation and then the regatta itself," said manager Tim Liversage.
"They shared a goal of performance through learning from each other."
Three of Cushen's clubmates at Northwich were also in action wearing Welsh colours.
Gwilym Harris was third in a junior men's single scull, while Kiera Burke and Zara Gautier-Price ranked classified fourth in a junior women's double.
Good luck to Zara, Keira and Gwil competing for Wales this weekend and Ellie who is representing England at @HIR2019 #gogreenandgold pic.twitter.com/ELc2yUqorz
