AS part of a project to combat social isolation throughout Warrington, Radio Warrington gave six radios to the homes team of Aid UK charity.

The radios were given to the charity to support the furnishing of accommodation for homeless families.

Andy Green, chairman of Radio Warrington 1332AM said: "Community radio plays an important part in the combat of social isolation in that it can inform the community of what is happening in the town to encourage participation.

"It is an additional voice that speaks to the lonely and housebound to help them keep in touch, in real time, with what is happening across town.

"Care UK is an ideal charity to help us in our aims."
