FIREFIGHTERS Harry Garewal and Ed Snook were given repeated dunkings at the weekend to help raise money for a good cause.

Dunk the Firefighter was one of the popular attractions at an open day at Knutsford Fire Station, which raised £626 for The Firefighters Charity.

The money was raised from the charity stall, the sale of ice cream, face painting and dunking Harry and Ed.

Fire Cadet Luke Plaskett also put himself in the firing line on the day, being pelted with sponges in the stocks.

Luke also had a bake sale, with both events raising £179 for his trip to Nepal in the autumn of 2020 to help build a school in conjunction with the charity Classroom in the Clouds.

The open day also featured a children’s activities room and a performance by the Rock Choir, which followed demonstrations of rope and animal rescues and firefighters cutting the roof from a car following a crash.

There was also a vintage fire engine and the Tatton Perk coffee van.

The organisers thanked local businesses which donated prizes for a charity raffle, including Cottons Hotel and Spa, Vikings Knutsford and Fenton’s Farm Foods.
