A NEW garden centre is coming to Middlewich as plans have been accepted by Cheshire East Council.
The garden centre will be built just outside the Newton Bank Morrisons the proposal was approved on Monday, July 15.
The structure will comprise a single storey, lightweight structure that will be constructed largely from transparent glazing with a steel frame.
Case officer Edward Critchley, in his report, said: “The proposed development is acceptable in principle and is of a satisfactory design that would not have a detrimental impact upon neighbouring amenity or highway safety.”
Middlewich Town Council did express concern for resident safety in their comments on the development.
A spokesperson for the council said: “There is concern about the siting of the structure, and possible adverse effect on pedestrian safety and the relocation of some of the disabled parking bays.
“Access generally to the Morrisons site remains a concern.”
