A NEW coffee shop will open its doors at Barons Quay in September.

The Coffee House, an independent chain of coffee shops, will add to existing venues in Lymm, Partington, Sale and Widnes.

Cheshire West and Chester Council cabinet member for regeneration, Cllr Richard Beacham, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming the Coffee House to Northwich’s Barons Quay.

“The Coffee House was started by a couple of people who had an idea about how to bring people together, and that’s what Barons Quay is all about too.

“I’ve not been to a Coffee House before, but I look forward to visiting the new one in Northwich when it opens in September.

"I have no doubt this new place to meet friends, relatives and colleagues, or to grab some downtime by yourself, will compliment the growing range of new and established independents in Northwich.”

The Coffee House is expected to open in a corner unit of Barons Square, opposite the entrance to M&S.

The unit was previously earmarked for Patisserie Valerie.

The Coffee House owner and co-founder, Chris Shelmerdine said: “We are delighted to be able to announce our involvement in Barons Quay and we are excited to be showcasing our concept alongside national businesses H&M, Sports Direct and Card Factory later this year.

“We have been working closely with Cheshire West and Chester Council for some months now and look forward to building on this relationship as we fast approach our planned opening date.

“Northwich has been a target for us for many years. We think it is a beautiful town, which fits perfectly with the locations we already have.

"Barons Quay offers us a unique opportunity to develop our store design further than we have done before, and we can't wait to reveal it to the local community.

“For those who would like to keep up-to-date with our progress, follow us on Facebook and Instagram, where regular updates can be found.”

CWAC is continuing discussions with several different retailers and leisure organisations for Barons Quay and says it is confident of further announcements soon.
