A CHARITY ride out has raised hundreds of pounds for St Luke's Hospice.

Around 120 motorcyclists and scooterists joined the ninth annual event on Sunday.

Clubs from across Cheshire and North Staffordshire teamed up to help fund care and support for people living with cancer and their families.

Riders raised £796.42 for St Luke's Hospice and also sold £55 worth of car raffle tickets.

Riders met at St Luke's furniture warehouse on Road One on Winsford Industrial Estate and travelled 40 miles to the Middlewich Classic Car and Motorcycle Show.

Organiser Denis Newall, from South Cheshire Motorcycle Club, said: "Around 120 motorcyclists and scooterists rode on Sunday under a sky that looked threatening.

Marshalls were posted at every junction to direct riders and volunteers who collected for St Luke's

"However, the rain held off and turned into a beautiful day. The 40-mile ride went without any problems and was enjoyed by all.
