A CELEBRITY stylist has chosen a Middlewich bridal shop to take part in his new fashion tour.

Willows Bridal Boutique is set to feature in One Size Fits All – Gok Wan’s body and self-confidence show.

Helen Williams, owner, said: “We were approached by Gok Wan’s team to design a bridal outfit for One Size Fits All where basically we send him the outfit and he does what he does best and critiques it."

The event will take place in Mere in Knutsford on September 22.

The fashion guru often appears on television giving women practical tips on how to make the best of their appearance.

Helen is changing the image of her own business after winning a national nomination and transforming an old bank into a state-of-the-art showroom Helen, 34, said: “I was flabbergasted to be nominated. Most businesses tend to use developers when building their websites but I did this almost as a hobby. I didn’t really expect anything when I sent I my application for the awards."

More than 200 businesses across the country are considered for the awards and Helen is delighted to put Middlewich on the map.

Helen said: “Just to be nominated would have been brilliant but I can’t believe I got down to the final five. I never thought I could get this far.

“It will be absolutely mind-blowing if I win but I am really happy just to get this far.”

The award ceremony takes place in Harrogate on Monday, September 9.

The shop has just opened in a new location at 24-26 Wheelock Street, the former Barclays bank.

From late April to early May Helen gradually made the move to the new building to minimise disruption for her customers.

Helen said: “It’s the first time the building has ever been used for anything other than a bank. It was opened in the 18th century as a bank.

“I’ve had a lot of people come in just to see how different the shop looks, so far the response has been really positive. I think people were worried about who was going to move into the building but they seem to be impressed with everything I’ve done, it looks completely different.

“There is so much more space and it means that all our services can now be provided on site which makes everything a lot easier.

“I did not think three years ago that I would have moved to a new building by now and be up for a national award. It’s a really exciting time.”
