COWBOYS and cowgirls from the Lonestar Old West Re-enactment group rode into Petty Pool College in Northwich last week and with a hearty ‘Yee-Haw’ handed over a cheque for £5,000.
Chester members from the group, dressed in authentic 19th century wild west costumes, delighted students at the Sandiway-based vocational college, having raised the donation from its members.
Nicola Colenso, director of student services, said: “It is incredible the support from the Lonestar group and staff and students have really enjoyed learning more about the re-enactment and wild west.”

The money will be added to the fundraising campaign for new classrooms which will allow the college to increase the number of students it supports to 110 young adults from September.
Little Moe, from Lonestar, said: “We are so impressed by the whole College and it is such a happy place.
“We look forward to seeing the new classrooms and the additional students.”
Last year, 72 per cent of learners from the college exited into work related destinations including 32 per cent into paid employment, against a national benchmark of just five per cent.
