A TECH provider in Winsford is recruiting new staff following successful growth.

Concert Networks on Bostock Green in Wharton Green has promoted employees as part of an expansion and restructuring programme.

The company provides hosted communications solutions to businesses of all sizes including VoIP, internet connectivity and mobile voice and data.

Chris Mullen has been appointed as business development manager, tasked with growing the company’s client portfolio within the legal and professional services sectors.

Having worked at O2 for 15 years across a range of departments, he brings a wealth of experience.

Chris said: “In today’s digital age, where consumers can turn to Google and search hundreds of companies within a few seconds, competition is fierce and service has become the differentiator, as opposed to product or price.

“Businesses are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of quality communication and the role this plays within the client journey. I look forward to helping educate them further in my new role.”

Former account manager Sophie Johnson has stepped into the role of customer success manager and will be responsible for the successful delivery of client projects.

Finance and billing apprentice Anja Berg, 21, has been promoted to finance manager after just 18 months with the firm.

Anya said: "Everyone was expecting me to go to university and I was offered a place to study mechanical engineering.

"It was only when I got through to the final of a national school leaver's competition that I began to have my eyes opened to the world of apprenticeships."

Anya met representatives from 10 blue chip companies who advised her to consider a higher apprenticeship.

"It was a no brainer," she said. "I'm earning while I'm learning and will have no debt at the end of it.

"I'll be coming away with four years experience and a level 7 apprenticeship which is the equivalent of a master's degree.

"Concert has put a lot of trust and faith in me with the tasks I've been given and it's made my work extremely rewarding.

"In five years I'd like to hope I'd have completed my apprenticeship course with a distinction grad and passed all my CIMA exams so hopefully I'll be a chartered accountant."

Managing director Neil Hollands said: “Anja has demonstrated fantastic ability since joining us as well as incredible tenacity and a passion for learning. She’s proof of the opportunity that apprenticeship programmes can bring to school leavers and that if you work hard, anything is possible.”
