COMMUTERS had a lucky escape after a fire broke out at Handforth Railway Station.
Emergency services were called at around 8.45am today (Saturday, June 22) to Station Road following reports of a fire.
On arrival firefighters from Wilmslow discovered that the fire involved a printer in the ticket office.
No-one was injured during the fire and it is believed to have been started accidentally.
Crews used a large fan to remove smoke from the ticket office and left the scene around 20 minutes later.
