SIX Wirral schools took part in an exciting red carpet film festival at the Light Cinema in New Brighton.

LitFilmFest have partnered with hi-impact consultancy to work with schools across the borough to bring digital and literacy skills together.

Pupils from six schools had to write and produce their own films in English lessons before enjoying a film premiere of their finished projects on June 13.

By using resources from LitFilmFest, schools could choose from a range of projects such as; Lioness Lunch, Why I Play, Pupil Prime Minister and TeamTap to create their final film.

Tim Miles, educational cinematographer at LitFilmFest told the Globe: "What a fabulous film festival that was.

"The kids were buzzing seeing their hard work on the screen.

"It makes it all worthwhile to help their voices to be heard, and they did it so eloquently.

"Who wouldn't want to work with their friends at school on a video to be shown at the cinema?

"Wirral really does have some very innovative teachers, which should stand the future generations in good stead."

Partnering with LitFilmFest for the second year running, hi-impact consultancy hosted the event and worked with the schools to get their entries ready for the big screen.

Managing director at hi-impact consultancy Alan Thompson said: “This is the second year we have partnered with LitilmFest to organise this event and it was just as fantastic as last year!

"We are delighted to be able to offer schools across the borough the opportunity to get these incredible resources for free and also to attend a festival that showcases their work.”

The following schools took part: St Werburghs Primary School; Pensby Primary School; Priory Parish School; Park Primary School; Lingham Primary School and Devonshire Park Primary School.
