Man 'running' on motorway caused early morning M6 closure
BOTH sides of the M6 between junctions 17 and 18 were briefly blocked earlier this morning, following reports of a man running around on the road.
Police and highways officers recieved reports around 4.30am of a man running across all lanes of both the northbound and southbound carriageways.
A block was put in place, but lifted before 5am, releasing traffic travelling between the junctions for Sandbach, and Middlewich and Holmes Chapel.
North West Motorway Police posted on Twitter that they believed the man 'eventually climbed through the bushes and off the motorway'.
