ROBERTS Bakery brought the baking revolution to the Royal Cheshire County Show public this year – its 14th as a principal sponsor.

Showcasing is innovative reduced plastic packaging and new Digestion Boost range, the Rudheath-based bakery engaged with thousands of eager show visitors taking up samples and learning about the pioneering work going on behind the scenes.

Community champion Graham Finnigan said: “We are here with our rebranding, our next generation bakery shaking up the baking world.

“This is the biggest community event for us in the whole year, right here in our heartland.”

“We are really pushing the boundaries with baking.

“It then all goes into a paper craft bag, so as to not have plastic bags around the showground.”

The Roberts Bakery stalls within the Food Hall and near the Music Bowl was manned by volunteers from the Rudheath HQ, giving behind-the-scene employees a chance to interact with customers and support the new range.

Graham added: “We have got our next-generation inflatable stall which is brand new this year, where we are sampling our bloomers and we have some experts in there to explain about recyclable packaging.

“Our Roberts family values are quite different, quite quirky – one of which is community. This is the biggest community event for us in the whole year, right here in our heartland.”

Mike Roberts opened the day’s proceedings in the bakery-sponsored Food Live Tent, closely followed by the Roberts Bakery Band who gave up a day’s holiday from their jobs across Cheshire to play four slots on Tuesday.
