WITH only three weeks to go until this year's Wilmslow Community Show, details of the activities in the Dog Arena have been announced.

The ever popular Dog Show returns with a mixture of categories so there is something for every canine, no matter how much of a pedigree it is - or isn't!

So whether you have the best rescue dog, the best looking dog or the one with the waggiest tail, there is a class for you and your four-legged friend.

The show is free to enter and you just need to arrive on the day, there is no need to pre-register.

Woodford Dog Training Club are also in the arena doing a couple of demonstrations throughout the day along with a new attraction this year.

Chairman Angela McPake said: "When we were booking acts for the show we came across a Ferret Roadshow and it looks so funny, we just couldn't resist; despite the fact we were booking acts for the dog arena and, by the wildest stretch of the imagination, ferrets are not terribly canine like.

"We are hoping visitors won't be disappointed."

This year the arena is sponsored by the Wilmslow Dog Grooming Boutique and Spa, who are on Hawthorn Lane in the town centre.

Angela said: "We are delighted to welcome WDG as the sponsors of the dog arena and indeed, to Wilmslow. We would like to thank them for supporting the biggest community event in the town."

Wilmslow Dog Grooming Boutique and Spa will also be hosting fun dog games at various points throughout the afternoon which are open to all.

This year's Wilmslow Community Show is on Sunday, July 7 on the Carnival Field, Altrincham Road from 11am-5pm.

There is a free bus running from Broadway Meadow Car Park to the showground throughout the day.
