HERE is our guide to the FAB Festival 2019 as Middlewich’s flagship event returns for its 29th year.

The first band to grace the Market Field stage on Friday night will be The Peacocks at 6.30pm followed by Emma Stevens at 7.15pm and then Macclesfield punk duo, The Virginmarys.

The headline act for Friday night is noughties sensation Toploader, their set begins at 9.30pm.

The FAB parade will kickstart the entertainment on Saturday at the Jack’s carpark at 11am and it will reach Market Field at 11.30am.

The street circus returns and that starts in Market Field at 12.30pm and it is perfect for family fun.

Middlewich’s own identical twin country music duo Cinder Hill will take to the main stage at 1.30pm.

Closing the main stage on Saturday will be the iconic 70s band Showaddywaddy and their performance will start at 9pm.

On Sunday you will not want to miss Chris Jagger Acoustic Roots as the brother of legendary Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger will be bringing his own signature sound to the field at 6.30pm.

Following Chris Jagger at 7.30pm will be the Electric Swing Circus, a renowned six-piece band from Birmingham.

As well as the main stage there is plenty going on in the town throughout the festival to keep visitors busy.

The Floating Market returns this year

The popular Floating Market makes its anticipated to return to the festival after being absent last year due to the canal collapse.

The market is open from 10am every day and the boats will be selling everything from cakes, crafts, paintings and ironwork.

The floating market starts at the towpath at Town Bridge and continues towards the Big Lock.

Brand new to the festival this year is the St Luke’s Busker Bus which is located in the Town Wharf, near Leadsmithy Street.

The bus will host a variety of performers including musicians and poets and it is open from midday to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.

The proceeds from the bus will go to the hospice.

Visitors will be spoilt for choice for refreshments with the return of the Food Court boasting a huge variety of culinary delights including Mexican street food, doughnuts, halloumi fries, hog roast, pizzas, Spanish churros, sandwiches and toasties.

A beer festival on market field will celebrate the real ales of Cheshire with award-winning Merlin Brewery and the new wines and spirits bar beside the Old Mule Bar.

Cocktail, gin and prosecco bars will also be dotted around.

The fringe events in the town have returned and this year the participating pubs are The Big Lock, Boars Head Hotel, Cheshire Cheese, The Kinderton, The Kings Lock, The Narrowboat, Newton Brewery Inn and The White Bear.
