TITLE favourites Salford shattered 10-man Blues' perfect away record.

Joe Gibiliru's men have now conceded as many goals as they've scored this season, hence their midtable position.

Their opponents were just too good on Saturday.

They were gifted the opener though when a mix-up between Mark Calland and goalkeeper Michael Langley gave Jon Robinson the easiest of tap-ins.

Worse was to follow for Calland soon afterwards when he was harshly adjudged to have lashed out at Robinson and was given his marching orders.

Things evened up two minutes later when Bernard Morley's chest-high horizontal tackle on Darren Connell saw him following Blues' central defender to the changing rooms.

Both decisions seemed harsh.

Salford piled on the pressure and the small band of Winsford supporters had to wait until the 36th minute before they saw the first real chance, Phil Mason teeing up Connell who saw his shot cleared off the line.

Deep into first half injury time Robinson added to his tally when Winsford carelessly lost possession, scoring with a shot from the edge of the box.

The second half began in much the same fashion with Langley keeping out efforts from Robinson and Jamie Baguley.

Possession But Salford soon made it three when once again Winsford lost possession and a long cross into the box was headed home by Carl Lomax.

With the result beyond doubt Winsford entered their best spell of the match.

Les Miranda scored with his first touch of the ball as he found himself with room on the left edge of the box, drilling a shot into the far corner.

Three minutes later Lee Madin's free kick smashed against the bar, but it proved to be Blues last attempt of the match.
