SALON directors who joined forces 12 months ago are celebrating a successful year by offering one lucky Warrington Guardian reader a complimentary cut and colour.

Paul Kemp, 37, and Andy Collins, 44, have gone from strength to strength with their town centre salon Kemp and Collins Hairdressing and are even busy teaching the next generation.

To celebrate their first birthday, Paul and Andy have organised a competition to win a free hair cut and colour, showcasing how proud they are of their services and levels of customer care.

Warrington Guardian:

Andy said: "We want to say how well the team has done in the last 12 months- without the team we couldn't have done it.

"Thank you to all our clients too.

"Customer service is at the heart of our business as reflected in being shortlisted as finalists in Warrington Guardian Customer Service Awards 2019.

"The salon is always relaxed and professional- we have experience so we know that it is not just about getting your hair cut, it's the full package."

Kemp and Collins has taken on two apprentices, 17-year-old Anna Gallone from Sankey Bridges and 31-year-old Hayley Bryant from Glazebury.

Hayley joined as a mature apprentice after trying other jobs and the salon gave her the opportunity when no-one else would due to her age.

Warrington Guardian:

Andy explained: "Taking on apprentices can help you improve the range of skills you have within your organisation.

"It also encourages you to look at the way you do things because you are passing on your knowledge and expertise to people keen to learn the trade or business, enhancing your own skill development.

"The added advantage is that you will effectively train a new employee to think and act in the interests of your business from day one, knowing that they haven’t already picked up any bad practice from elsewhere."

Anna, who joined the team last month, added: "Since starting at Kemp and Collins it has given me the opportunity to get into the industry I love- working with the team here has been amazing!"

The salon also offers aesthetic treatments by Viso Aesthetics, nails and beauty by Urban Space and traditional Thai massages by Sabai Sabai Traditional Thai Therapy.

Other team members include Geoff Ireland, Phill Ryan, Ryan Thompson, Paula McGrath, Jordan Coventry, Kelly Whittaker, Courtney Drew and Nunn.

To win a cut and colour at Kemp and Collins Hairdressing, applicants should email competition@nqnw.co.uk with the name of the street the salon is located on.

Postal applications should be sent to Warrington Guardian, Unit 4, 240 Cygnet Court, WA1 1PP and clearly labelled as salon competition with the correct street name included.

Applications must include their full name and contact details and usual Newsquest rules apply.

Readers will have until June 30 at 12pm to put forward their entries.
