DIGNITARIES gathered in Ellesmere Port to mark the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
The wreath-laying service took place at the Normandy Stone at the junction of Stanney Lane and Whitby Road on Thursday, June 6.
Guests to lay wreaths included Ellesmere Port and Neston Labour MP Justin Madders and the new Mayor of Ellesmere Port, Cllr Michael Edwardson.
The D-Day landings in 1944 were the largest seaborne invasion in history, and regarded as one of the crucial turning points of the Second World War.
