A ROCK band which has attracted millions of fans has pledged to help save young lives.

The Luka State, from Winsford, is headlining a gig at De Bees on Saturday, June 8, to raise funds for Papyrus, a charity for the prevention of young suicide.

The four-piece British rock band has been described as 'the hardest working unsigned band in the UK right now' and has racked up an impressive 3.2 million Spotify streams, plus a staggering 4.2 million YouTube reviews in a matter of months.

With considerable air play on BBC 6Music and their new single Girl, the band is now on the crest of a musical wave.

The gifted musicians are teaming up with beauty queen Eleanor Farr to help youngsters battling depression and difficulties in their lives.

Eleanor, 24, whose family comes from Winsford, is organising the concert to give something back to the community in her role as a Miss England 2019 semi-finalist.

She has conquered a severe chronic illness and wants to do all she can to support people who are struggling.

"I suffered with depression so I can understand what young people are going through," said Eleanor, who was diagnosed with an aggressive autoimmune disease when she was only 19.

"I want to let people know that it doesn't matter what battles you face, you can empower yourself to achieve anything.

"I've had four bad years of life but now I've literally got everything - my dream job as a photographer, great friends and I'm a Miss England semi-finalist."

Thankfully, Eleanor has been in remission for two years, thanks to medication, physiotherapy and infusions.
