ANNABEL Irvine’s new garden ornament is proving to be a real head-turner.
Annabel is the PA to the Knutsford Mayor, and was given a wooden sculpture of a barn owl by last year’s mayor Cllr Peter Coan.
Cllr Coan presented the thankyou gift to Annabel as he stood down from his civic role at the mayor-making ceremony for the new town mayor, Cllr Andrew Malloy.
The two-feet high sculpture is made from cherry wood, and was created by Andrew Burgess, from Mobberley, a professional chainsaw wood sculptor.
Andrew donated an owl sculpture for the silent auction at Cllr Coan’s mayoral ball, and Cllr Coan asked him to make one as a gift for his PA after Annabel was impressed by the sculpture donated to the ball.
Andrew and his brother Tim, from Rostherne, who is also a full-time chainsaw wood sculptor, are to exhibit at this year’s RHS Show at Tatton Park.
