St Mary’s Catholic Primary School celebrated its 25th anniversary on Friday, May 10.
The school was opened by the Rt Rev Joseph Gray, Bishop of Shrewsbury in 1994.
Janet McKinlay, headteacher said: “It is a privilege to be part of such a vibrant and special community.
“St Mary’s has grown over the last 25 years and has become central to and heavily involved in the local community due to the commitment and hard work of the many people – governors, parishioners, staff, parents and pupils - who have been and are connected to St Mary’s.”
The school organised a whole school photograph to commemorate the 25th anniversary.
Mass was celebrated by Father Peter Dutton and previous members of staff were invited.
The school also commissioned an artist for the day to work with all the children to create an artwork linked to the anniversary which will now be kept as a memento for years to come.
Mrs Folan, one of the parents, made an amazing 25th anniversary cake which was a replica of the school.
