A DELAYED roadworks project is set to cause significant disruption to motorists over five days.

Plans to resurface Chorley Old Road in three separate sections will mean the installation of temporary traffic lights during off-peak hours from Monday, June 3, to Friday, June 7.

The project, completed by Bolton Council will focus on resurfacing the street in phases between the Moss Bank Way roundabout and Montserrat Brow, from the other side of Montserrat Brow to Old Kiln Lane and from New Church Road to Avenue Street.

The temporary lights are expected to cause significant delays to motorists for the duration of the project.

Residents living in homes restricted by the works will be able to access their properties throughout the work, although there will be some periods where access is restricted.

The project is weather dependant and could be postponed if inappropriate conditions arise, with updated plans provided.
