FIREFIGHTERS were called to a small fire in Weaver Valley Park in Winsford at 8.54pm last night.
One fire engine from Winsford attended the scene.
A spokesperson for the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "At around 9pm firefighters from Winsford were called to reports of a fire in Weaver Valley Park.
"On arrival the team found a small fire in a wooded area of the park which was attended by a number of adults.
"Due to it location, and the risk that it may spread, firefighters took the decision extinguish the fire using one hose reel jet and hand appliances.
"Crews were in attendance for around 45 minutes."
