MIDDLEWICH runners supported SADS UK at the annual Simply Health Great Manchester Run again this year.

The team is brought together by SADS UK Middlewich Representative Linda Boden who has donated many defibrillators to schools and organisations in the town.

Anne Jolly MBE, from SADS UK said: “We are very grateful to SADS UK’s Middlewich Representative, Linda, for her continued hard work and support.

“Thanks also to John, Tom, Steven, Ashley, Julie and Kimberly for their continued support each year in memory of Andrew which really is appreciated and valued by the charity.”

Linda’s son Andrew died of SADS in 2006 aged just 26.

Every year Linda takes a team of Andrew’s friends to the Great Manchester Run to raise awareness and funds for the charity which funds research into Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome.

The charity help to provide cardiac equipment such as heart monitors, event recorders and defibrillators to help save lives.

A defibrillator is the only piece of equipment that will restore the heart rhythm.

If a person goes into cardiac arrest it is crucial that the person is administered a therapeutic shock delivered by the defibrillator as quickly as possible to give them the best chance of survival.

The Automated External Defibrillator is easy to use and gives voice prompts to the rescuer.
