THE Davenham Players will be shedding light on the history of the village's theatre during a production this Friday and Saturday.

'Hidden Gem @59' is the culmination of a project researching the history of Davenham Theatre, charting its history before and after the Players group came to be.

Discovered through workshops and meetings with residents of Davenham past and present, the information will be presented through the medium of drama and storytelling.

The Church Street building's history has long been discussed – ever since the Players moved in 50 years ago – and the project has unearthed fascinating information.

Performances, taking the audience through the rooms with interwoven tales of years gone by, run on Friday, May 24 and Saturday, May 25 at 7.30pm.

To book, call 01606 259596 or visit danarts.org

Tickets are £8 to include tea and cake.
