THE Middlewich 5k 2019 was a big success with crowds gathering at the Big Lock Pub for the start of the race.
There was also a fun run which included three laps of the Middlewich Cricket Ground.
Darren Roberts, organiser, said: “It was more successful than we hoped, we have had so much amazing feedback about it.
“My one worry was the weather and the only issue there was that some said it was a bit too hot out on the track.”
The 5k sold out but the fun run was also well attended.
Darren said: “The fun run was very popular with the children, I think we had about 90 kids taking part which was fantastic to see. They all received a goody bag and a medal so they were delighted with that”
The event is going from strength to strength and plans are already in place to make it better next year.
Darren said: “We already have some of the same stalls booked and a few sponsors. At the moment we have some sponsors confirmed but we are looking to get more sorted as soon as we can.”
