ENERGETIC teenagers are being encouraged to take on an exciting new challenge and be part of something big.
Young people aged 14-17 in Winsford are invited to join the fun-filled Hope Project.
Free workshops will be held on Mondays between 5pm and 6.45pm from May 13 until July 29 at Winsford Library and include a Bank Holiday special and a trip to Liverpool in July.
Young performers from the Winsford Hope project attracted a lot of interest when their colourful parade brought fun and music to the town last month
The goal of the three month project is to engage creative young people and incorporate their ideas and interests into local museums.
Arts and heritage youth workers will be on hand to help channel ideas and teach new skills and everyone is welcome.
This project is not only a chance to have fun and make new friends but every teenager taking part will receive an art qualification.
A storyteller captured the imagination of shoppers in Winsford town centre as the exciting festival project was launched last month
The Winsford Hope project is part of Hope Street, a Heritage Fund-sponsored initiative led by Curious Minds, an arts and education organisation, in partnership with Cheshire West Museum Services, Youth Focus North West and Museum Development North West.
This five-year project seeks to revolutionise the way that museums connect with young people.
The plan is that it will act as a catalyst to recruit young people to take on leadership roles, along with participating museums, in the organisation of five Festivals of Hope in 2020.
