A PLANNING application has been submitted to demolish a building in Yatehouse Lane and replace it with two new houses.
The existing building is a horse-riding arena and the new proposal is to convert the building into new houses with garages.
A planning statement said: “The application site is located within the open countryside and it is closely related to seven existing houses including those created from a barn conversion adjacent the site.
“Having regard to the reduction in volume, and the approved extent of the residential land, there would be an enhancement to the appearance of the site.”
The plans include two parking spaces next to each house.
The proposal follows the refusal of planning permission for the conversion of the existing building to create two new houses.
The first reason for refusal was that the proposals would see new houses that would be physically separate from any settlement which would go against the strategy of the development plan.
However, the developer believes that this application would not result in an isolated development because it will be next to seven existing houses.
