POLICE are treating two fires in Winsford last night as suspected arson attacks.

At around 8.50pm yesterday (Friday, April 12) firefighters were called to a blaze on Forest Road.

On arrival they discovered that the fire involved a large amount of conifers and shrubbery.

It is believed to have been started deliberately by using an accelerant.

Within ten minutes, firefighters were called to another blaze at Finsbury Walk, just a short walk away from Forest Road.

Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire which involved a bin.

This fire is also believed to have been started deliberately.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
