Fire crews from Winsford and Middlewich attended the scene
FIREFIGHTERS had to force their way into a derelict property in Wheelock Street to extinguish a fire this morning.
A spokesman for the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters were called to an empty first floor flat above an empty shop in Wheelock Street in Middlewich following reports of a fire.
"Crews gained entry to the flat and used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel to put our the fire which involved paper."
Firefighters were called to the scene at 8.56am this morning.
