STORM Gareth could not stop a one-year old springador dog and a three-year-old springer spaniel from enjoying the outdoors- as the two ended up taking a swim in a field.

John Wilson was out walking two of his dogs when he came across a flooded field on Wednesday afternoon.

John said: “I was walking the dogs on the path near the River Dene just past Middlewich Recycling Centre at about 3pm yesterday.

“The two dogs ran off ahead of me and I could see them playing in the field.

“I live near Croxton Trail so I come here quite a lot, so I was not surprised to see it flooded with the recent weather.”

Storm Gareth has brought high winds and heavy rain during the week but John’s dogs will not be amongst those complaining about the weather.

“They just love the water, I could have just stood there watching them for hours but I was starting to get cold.

“The welsh springer is actually the springador's dad, we have another dog as well but she has been in the vets recently so she is sulking at the moment.”
