A MAN has suffered serious facial injuries after being attacked by a gang of men in the town centre.

The 25-year-old male, from Warrington, was the victim of a serious assault on Barbauld Street at around 3am on Saturday, March 9.

Two or three young men are believed to have attacked him in the alleyway between the Postern Gate and FC2 nightclubs.

He was taken to hospital for treatment for serious facial injuries, but has since been discharged.

The man’s attackers are described as being around 18 or 19 years old, and between 5ft8 and 6ft in height.

They spoke with Liverpudlian or Runcorn accents.

Detective constable Jill Peggs said: “The victim suffered serious facial injuries that required hospital treatment as a result of the assault.

“I would like to reassure residents that this appears to be an isolated incident, and that we are determined to catch the offenders and make them face the consequences of their actions.

“Enquiries are ongoing, and I urge anyone who witnessed the incident or thinks they may know who the offenders are to come forward.”
